WHICH SESSION
IS MY GAME?
Pick the description that feels most like you right now. It is better to start at a level that lets you settle in, rally and enjoy the game than to jump ahead too soon.

First things first Start where you are
Not sure?
That’s normal.
If you have never played pickleball, start with a local Learn to Play session before booking at Bayside. Once you know the rules, scoring and basic shots, work through the Bayside levels below.
Find a Learn to Play club ↗
01 / Club Novice
Novice
You know the rules, can keep score and have basic playing skills — but you are still building confidence.
- Your serve and groundstrokes are becoming more consistent.
- You are starting to sustain rallies with players at a similar level.
- You are learning to approach the non-volley zone and cover more of the court.
A good next step after a Learn to Play session.
02 / Club Social
Club Social
For advanced beginners and up who know the game and enjoy a relaxed, social hit.
- You understand the rules and pickleball etiquette.
- You can serve reliably and keep a gentle rally going from the baseline and non-volley zone.
- You can volley and are comfortable handling a mix of soft and faster shots.
Right for you if you have completed a few sessions and feel confident to play a faster game.
03 / Club Intermediate
Intermediate
For players ready to add consistency, court awareness and more purposeful match play.
- You can keep serves and returns deep, and maintain rallies with groundstrokes and volleys.
- You are developing teamwork, court positioning and match-play strategy.
- You are beginning to use drops and resets to move into the non-volley zone.
If your games at this level are usually even, you are in the right place.
04 / Club High Intermediate
High
Intermediate
For players at the top end of Intermediate who are ready for a more competitive game — but not yet Advanced.
- You can consistently serve and return deep, and sustain a 5–10 shot baseline rally in a warm-up.
- You can control both hard and soft play, including volleys, dinks and drives at the non-volley zone.
- You understand how drops, third-shot drops, resets and court position help control a rally.
- You can work with a partner and adapt your play to different opponents and shots.
Requirement: DUPR or equivalent 3.0–3.5.
05 / Club Advanced
Advanced
3.5+
A competitive, faster-paced session for confident players who are already playing above intermediate level.
- You can consistently play a hard and soft game, reset the ball and make reliable third-shot choices.
- You are confident at the non-volley zone and can use court position and teamwork to create an advantage.
- You have the agility, mobility and all-round consistency for higher-level play.
Advanced sessions require a DUPR 3.5+ or equivalent.
